As passenger behavior changes in both their attitude towards airline travel, with the concept of “hop on/hop off” short haul routes -  and how passengers have become more thoughtful about how and what they pack – coupled with tougher restrictions (and fees) for handling baggage -  our goal at James & Longbourne, was to design and develop a range of luggage that was compatible with the change in requirements and trends, looks and feels stylish, is highly practical and most importantly complies with all the Airlines carry-on requirements.

Our second piece is the Worlds only “Micro Case” This elegant travel accessory has been designed by James & Longbourne for the man on the move. It allows you to neatly organise your luggage (up to 7 business shirts and 4 ties), carry a wash bag (supplied with an airline security compliant washbag) and is small enough to fit into your brief case!!!  

“Bringing a big bag and expecting it to travel for free, it’s too much to ask,” said Stephen McNamara, director of communications for Ryanair. “It’s expensive to ship something heavy in an airplane when fuel prices are very high.” Mr. McNamara said the airline had as a goal nothing less than changing passenger behavior. “People are packing way too much; women bringing four pairs of shoes, hair dryers, that sort of thing.”

It is our belief at James & Longbourne that other airlines will adopt a similar stance (more diplomatically perhaps?)  towards checking-in and carrying luggage. The increase in air travel puts tremendous strain on existing airport facilities, so turnaround times for airplanes are under constant pressure to be reduced. Thus, reductions in boarding time (and passengers checking in luggage) result in revenue increases and/or cost reductions while potentially increasing passenger satisfaction. Our goal at James & Longbourne, is therefore to design and develop a range of unique Carry-On luggage that is affordable, world class quality, stylish, practical and complies with ALL airlines hand luggage requirements.
